Proton + Lotus = EVE Hybrid

Proton, Malaysia’s National auto manufacturer with collaboration with Lotus Engineering has unveiled its first Hybrid prototype. The ‘EVE’ hybrid was introduced based on Efficient, Viable and Environmental. There are some impressive vital statistics from EVE.

Proton has not exposed any particulars of when or if the prototype EVE Hybrid will be mass-produced.

Lotus Engineering believes the application of hybrid technology is a key route for CO2 emissions reduction and that in the short term it will remain more viable to integrate hybrid technologies into existing model ranges than to develop expensive new dedicated hybrid platforms. That’s why EVE were named base on Efficient, Viable and Environmental.

The EVE system will offer Proton solutions that will remain price premiums for hybrid variants to a minimum; the reason is the of the Proton effort to lower development costs.
